Midwinter’s Canon

AKG1329 Jacket GWP001

Recorded in 2010, Midwinter’s Canon is a 60 minute compilation of 4 long Christmas Medleys, arranged & performed by myself on solo Harp. The title piece was inspired by a dream I had, in which I heard Pachelbel’s “Canon in D”, with "In the Bleak Midwinter”, by Gustav Holst, superimposed over the Canon. It was so beautiful that I woke up, went to my Harp, and began to experiment. With a few harmonic changes, they go together like a dream!

Eclectic & not overly Christmasy, with influences of Classical, Celtic, New Age, & Jazz.

Here is a list of the 4 medleys included on this CD:

1.Midwinter’s Canon

2. Oh…   Every Xmas song that starts with the word “Oh”  :)

3. The Kings & the Child    a fusion of We Three Kings &  What Child is This

4. Lullabies & Angels    This song is a Medley of various lullabies, woven in and out of every xmas song I could find that has the word Angels in the title.
